Twice the money was spent on the dinosaurs for this film than Dino Island 2: The Second Island.
The mirror scene near the beginning was done with a mirrored room using both Mathew Nervon and his son Tommy. At times, Mathew is actually playing his reflection while his son (who is facing away from the camera) is playing his father. Director David Breaze said he was proud in how he created this scene, calling it "one of the most cleverly done scenes in Takeawalk Studio history".
This is the first film to actually have a real stunt where a stuntman was suggested, in the scene where Liam [Liam Nervon] swings across the ravine. However, Liam said he was willing to do the scene himself and did so.
At $411,000, this film has the highest budget of any Brick World Pictures film.
Although a third installment of the Dino Island franchise was already established, writer Zachary Brickens had zero ideas for the third film until he remembered that Alex [Dan Fardin] had been left on the island and wasn't mentioned afterwards. Zachary admitted he was relieved at this as he would not have known what else to do.
When asked if there could hypothetically be a fourth film, Zachary Brickens laughed saying, "Absolutely not. I mean what would is possibly be about? Aside from the fact that this franchise isn't very popular, all three films have pretty much the same plot because what else can you do with this topic?"
First film to use scrolling credits at the end.
Takes place four years after Dino Island 1 (2016) and two years after Dino Island 2: The Second Island (2017).
At 3:06 in the anti-dinosaur protests, there is a sign that reads "Goldblum is wrong". While some may assume that he is a pro-dinosaur protestor disagreeing with Goldblum's opinions on dinosaurs being a bad thing, the sign is actually referring to his famous line "life will find a way"; the sign meaning "life won't find a way to survive / evolve as we will get rid of the dinosaurs". Writer Zachary Brickens however did like the idea of the sign being a pro-dinosaur protester and said, "The meaning of the sign is up to each viewer, as long as it is controversial."
Joe [Joe Takolvi] and his family make a cameo as their characters from Dino Island 2: The Second Island.
Rick Dundee [William Markle] is the first character ever to have an accent, as the character is Australian.
Director David Breaze makes a cameo as one of the helicopter pilots.
